My First Day

Well im off....

Up at 4.00am (british time) and headin to bed 10.00pm (SF time). Thats 27hours awake... so you can guess by now im knackered so i will keep this post short.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I arrived safely and got checked into my room for the year, I must admit, its not what I thought it would be, I was thinkin it would be more like a flat, instead its just reminiscent of the grotty room we got on holidays, 2 beds, 2 small tables and a bathroom, thats about it. A bit dissapointed by it all but Ka Sera Sera, whatever will be will be. My roommate is this asian guy called Ryan, originally from L.A, and is now workin as a chief in some restaurant. He seems sound enough.

My flight was pleasantly relaxin, watched a few movies and read a bit but all in all it was fine, except for this one dude.

He was obviously from San Fran, imagine Billy Zane, but much more uncool and weird. He started doing all these yoga stances in the terminal before we got on the plane. Like lyin on his back and putting his legs up in the air, but worst of all he wasnt wearing any shoes or socks, honestly like, and you just know with my luck he is gonna be the guy sittin beside me on the flight, (well ended up close enough). He had this strange expression on his face, like a constant smile (maybe I should take up yoga). Then as if it werent weird enough, he started sobbin when the plane was touching down, I thought he was laughin at first at perhaps the movie but when i saw him he had his hands in a budda pose and his head was straight and sobbing. Its safe to say this dude really freaked me out!

When I finally arrived I got really anxious, I mean really anxious, I didnt know what to do or who to talk to, all of the ppl from work were out, until Colm came around, this dude is sound, he showed me where everything is and what to do, he also introduced me to all the others who work at Extranomical too, nice guy, had a few laughs and a bit of sushi, I was surprised how much I liked it.

Anyway, Im off to bed now because I have a whole pile of stuff to do in the morning, and I'm off on my first tour around the City, exciting, but as you can expect after 27hrs with no sleep, I'm really tired. So off to the land of Z's.
