2 months in 2 posts.... Part 1

Hey All,

Ok first of all let me say sorry for not posting in nearly 2 months.... my bad... no real excuse for it... I just sorta forgot about this.... so sorry... I will keep it going until I leave SF.

Ok so since my last blog (pushing the boat out) I have done so much including.....

* Valentines Day,
* Kenny's Visit,
* Went to Vegas,
* Worked (of course)
* St Paddy's Day
* Merve's Half Birthday
* Skied up in Lake Tahoe,
* Families visit

so what I think I will do is break this post up into 2 parts and basically run through all of the fun I have had, as I remember it.

First thing I remember was Valentines Day... so I will start there...

Valentines Day
- So I promised Merve that I would cook her something really romantic and that we would spend the day together.... unfortunately she was working so valentines day dinner would have to be valentines lunch. Never the less, I cooked.... (YES ME!!) I cooked chicken fillets covered in spices and garlic with melted cheese on top, with a smooth tuscan tomato and basil soup and a side of warm cheese bread. IT WAS EPIC... so delicious, and Merve thought so too... so after this we went for a little walk around the Bay Bridge and took some photos before I walked her to work and doubled back for the Giant San Francisco Pillow Fight was was kinda crap but still... All in all it was a great day, really romantic, full of love and presents, oh yes the presents... well as i cooked for her that was Merves present, along with some chocolates and a beautiful rose which I drew for her. (see photos) she got me these love mits (again see photos) and another special present that I cannot mention on here :P..... so great day... and here are some photos of that special day xxx

Kenny's Visit
- So the Day after Valentines Day was Kenny's visit. Kenny is one of my best mates from back home and it was great to see him. I was excused from work and really needed a break, so I got a few days off and we did the sights, including Alcatraz, Lombard Street, Yosemite and the mission etc etc. We also went to Vegas, but that section will follow soon. Well Kenny and I played some poker and did a few other things too... but the best thing we did was just sit down and chill like the good old days in Tesco Carpark... just chilling and listening to the beats.... and of course I threw a wee party for him leaving... (see photos).... not much else to report, it was just basically 2 good friends hanging out and reminiscing... and planning the future... Gay I know... but I loved it.... here are some pics...

So during Kenny's Stay we hit Vegas.... that's the next post.

Las Vegas
-Viva Las Vegas.... WOW.... one of the weirdest places I have ever been to... and not because of shows or anything like that, but just watching all of those films about the Mafia taking the place over in the 60's and 70's and thinking of what they used to do to people they found cheating (cut them up into small pieces and put them in an ant hill in the Nevada desert) that sorta gave me a sense of unease.... of course its not like that now.... and of course I wasnt planning on cheating... none the less there was still a nervous feeling about being watched all the time. But.... I got the courage up and decided to play a bit of poker....

I arrived in Vegas with around $350 bucks... just for gambling... turns out it was more than enough.... as Kenny was content to wander around the casino and play a few games here and there, I entered a cash game of Texas Holdem' poker.... This was good for me.... the blinds were 1 and 2 dollars which meant, that if you wanted to see the next 3 cards you had to bet a minimum of 2 dollars or if someone raised then you had to match the raise (but this is a story not a poker lesson) so anyway, I noticed that everyone just sat tight and waited for their hands, which allowed me to bluff a few times, however not too many whenever I only bought in with $50 and others had bought in with $200. But my playing paid off for me when i walked away from the table with $400 in the first day which I was more than pleased with.

The second day I thought I would try my luck once more and again it paid off, I was given Aces 3 times that day, which anyone will tell you is an unlikely thing.... Again I played for a couple of hours and sat tight and again I walked away with another $400... AMAZING!!! now to have some fun with it....

Kenny and I decided we wanted to see the tribute to Queen which is placed on this street called Freemont. It's the Freemont Experience where little projectors show up images of Queen's songs, We will Rock You and We are the Champions on a giant canopies that stretched for 2 blocks over casinos including the Golden Nugget. (being epic Queen fans it was a must for us to see). So we caught a taxi down to the show.... This was IMMENSE... the sound and colours that lit up the canopies was unreal and was really a highlight of the trip...

With that in the bag and me too nervous to gamble anymore... and taking both Kenny Brown and Kenny Rodgers advice... I knew when to hold em'... knew when to fold em'... knew when to walk away... knew when to run!!!

And that was that... Viva Las Vegas.... amazing!!!

Ok so thats quiet enough information for this post.... lots of photos to check out etc....

Stay tuned because later in the week I will add the second lot of this post....

Just a reminder.... you can see all these photos and more on my facebook - www.facebook.com/whiskeyo

Thanks for sticking with me....

Love - Jamie xxx
